The Pig & Whistle A History of Our Own
Hearthstone by the Lake has its own special bit of history with the restoration of the historical Pig & Whistle Inn. Hughes Cleaver, a lawyer and developer built the historic “ Pig & Whistle” in 1929. For more than 60 years the Pig & Whistle was a popular spot for dining, drinking and dancing.
An English-style country inn, the building includes a high-pitched roof with rolled eaves, and a notable chimney at the east side. A familiar part of the lakeside skyline since the 1930s, the historic Pig &Whistle has been restored and designated as a Heritage Site by the City of Burlington. The Pig and Whistle is available for use by the homeowners and their guests for special events.
