Health & Wellness Director
Hearthstone staff demonstrates a genuine interest to work with seniors by promoting their independence, wellness and delivering the highest standard of customer service in the industry. We are seeking a self-directed and inspired nurse who has the desire to play a key role in leading the health and wellness services of the Hearthstone Club through the opening and sell-up stages of this luxury seniors' condominium.
The ideal candidate has earned a certificate from a recognized post-secondary nursing program (RN or RPN) and possesses a valid certificate of competency in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario as well as valid CPR and first aid certification and a Class G driver's licence. In addition, offers a minimum of 2-5 year successful hands-on management experience in senior residential or home-care setting. The incumbent will have a strong desire to pursue personal and professional development and grow with our company in the area of business development and wellness management. Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and assessment skills and knowledge of relevant legislation is essential, as are computer skills.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of exceptional customer service and medical care
- Provision of quality care and emergency response for residents
- Preparation of departmental annual operating and capital budgets and review of monthly financial statements, delivering positive financial results
- Administer Point of Sale system (Jonas) and other computer systems required to manage department
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise all residential care front line staff
- Source and coordinate enhanced care services and 3rd party service providers which promotes an age-in-place setting for residents
- Maintain resident records and documentation as required
- Drive the corporate shuttle vehicle as required
- Maintain and control departmental purchasing, inventories and controls
- Implement and monitor infection control procedures
- Direct compliance with Public Health, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, other pertinent legislation and corporate policies
- Liaise with resident families, physicians, pharmacies and all community health care agencies and service providers as required, including after regular business hours
